GST EXCEEDED Rs. 1 LAKH CRORES EVEN IN JANUARY

New Delhi: GST collections crossed Rs 3 lakh crore for the third consecutive month. JST collections stood at Rs 1,10,828 crore in January. 

For the first time since the new tax system came into force, the first gross collection in November 2017 crossed Rs. 1.1 lakh crore. This is the second time. 

Revenue secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey, in the first week of January, had a key meeting with the tax authorities. The meeting decided to increase the target of Rs 1.15 lakh. This time, collections grew by nearly 8 percent compared to January 2019. There was a 12 percent increase in GST revenue collected from domestic transactions. CGST collected Rs 20,944 crore, SGST collected Rs 28,224 crore and IGST collected Rs 58,013 crore. 8,637 crore revenue from Cesses.
